This redfish is 38" long (due to the slight upward curve of the tail, the measured length is anywhere from just over 37" to just under 39" depending on where you place your tape ends), 14" tall, and 2" from the wall. I sculpted it from polystyrene foam, plaster, and epoxy resins. I carved the details by hand into the plaster, and carved the fins by hand from HDPE plastic from recycling plastic buckets as well as fresh HDPE sheets. It is reinforced with fiber mesh, and steel wire. It is comparable to a fiberglass replica in every way. It is light, strong, and easily hangs on a single nail via the hole in back at its center of gravity.
